Heat Up Your Routine with Inferno Hot Pilates

If you’re a hot yoga student looking for a high-intensity workout that delivers the drip factor that you love, Inferno Hot Pilates might be the perfect option for you. This workout has been making the rounds in the yoga community because students love the satisfying drip, while also toning and strengthening their bodies. And we’re pretty excited to be bringing it to the Razz community!

However, for those who have never tried it out, Inferno Hot Pilates can seem pretty intimidating. Don’t sweat (at least not yet), we’ve got all of the details for you here!

What is Inferno Hot Pilates?

Inferno Hot Pilates is a high-energy workout that features the strength and endurance of Pilates, while elevating the heart rate and increasing the overall intensity. It is practiced in our heated room with temperatures around 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit, which helps to increase that satisfying drip.

What are the Benefits of Inferno Hot Pilates?

Inferno Hot Pilates is an excellent workout for students who want to improve their core strength, endurance and flexibility—and who love sweating it out on the mat. Inferno Hot Pilates, like regular Pilates classes, will help create lean muscle mass while increasing cardiovascular fitness. The heated room increases blood flow and oxygenation in the muscles and joints which, in turn, helps in quick recovery from physical injuries.

What should you expect during an Inferno Hot Pilates class?

During an Inferno Hot Pilates class, expect some HIIT elements (think burpees and mountain climbers) mixed with Pilates moves and quite a bit of muscular endurance efforts. The class focuses on accentuated core movements as well as repetition. If you’ve taken a Pilates class, it’s like Pilates with a triple shot of espresso on top.  Be prepared to sweat a lot and leave with a satisfying smile on your face. Shares one Razz student, “As someone who is relatively new to yoga and Pilates, I appreciate that I can get a very intense workout in a short amount of time with little prior experience or skill. I also like that after class I feel as accomplished and energized as I would if I spent an hour at the gym, and it's way more engaging than going to the gym.”

It’s true—students who regularly practice Inferno Hot Pilates tend to love the intensity of the practice and generally incorporate it into their overall wellness routine once or twice a week.

This is NOT a yoga class. Although we incorporate savasana into the class, don’t expect the same mood as your hot yoga experience. The music is more upbeat and the class is very focused on energy and keeping the students motivated.

How should you get started in Inferno Hot Pilates?

If you’re new to Inferno Hot Pilates or have not had a strenuous workout in a while, it is recommended to take things a little slow. A few things you can do before starting the workout are:

  • Get clearance from your primary health provider

  • Stay hydrated and eat light meals

  • Avoid coffee, caffeine, and alcohol

  • Dress appropriately for the sweat—wear light, sweat-absorbent clothes.

  • Arrive early for class to acclimate to the heated room

  • Take breaks when you need to. The class is yours, so take advantage of the challenges but be mindful of your own limitations.
